Submit your entry by April 10 (week 10, term 1) to be eligible to be included in the ‘Pixilation Parade’ installation.
In 2025, DreamBIG Children’s Festival is turning 50! To celebrate, DreamBIG invites students all over South Australia to be part of our ‘Pixilation Parade’.
Animations from all around the state will be combined into a virtual parade and displayed in the Festival Theatre Gallery during the festival.
DreamBIG and the Department for Education have created the resource below to give you and your students the tools to create a short 15 to 30 second pixilation video of your students ‘parading’.
Submit your entry by April 10 2025 to be included in the ‘Pixilation Parade’ virtual installation exhibited in the Festival Theatre Gallery during the DreamBIG Children’s Festival.
What is Pixilation?
Pixilation is the process of animating people, rather than puppets or objects.
Who can participate?
Any preschool or school site in South Australia can submit an entry to be part of the ‘Pixilation Parade’ installation exhibited during the DreamBIG Children’s Festival.
You can create a Pixilation Parade whether you are participating in the DreamBIG Birthday Parade on site at the Adelaide Festival Centre, hosting your own parade at school, or as a stand-alone activity. The DreamBIG Pixilation Parade extends the Media Arts learning sequence ‘Future Me’ in the DreamBIG Teaching & Learning Resource.
How to participate
Download the Pixilation Parade instructions & media consent forms.
Submissions close April 10.
